More Than a MILF: Sex and the Aging Female Body

Call for Creative Nonfiction Stories

Our culture loves to pretend that desire has an expiry date, yet so many women continue to explore, redefine, and revel in their sexuality well past whatever that time’s supposed to be. While books like Miranda July’s All Fours and films such as Babygirl highlight (wealthy and white) erotic possibilities opening up to certain kinds of aging women, the full spectrum of stories—spanning race, class, body type, and lived experience—remains largely untold.

More Than a MILF is looking for honest, engaging, and deeply human stories. From your messy bedroom to those nights out that still haunt you, what have your most memorable encounters felt like? What made you moan, laugh, cringe or even cry? Sex can be transcendent, but it can also be messy, complicated, hilarious and risky. Feel free to bring shame, pain, and fear into the conversation. What matters most is that your stories are raw and unabashedly real.

By centering personal narratives from a diversity of aging women, More Than a MILF aims to challenge narrow ideas of how women “should” age to open space for unruly voices that are also tender and true.

This call is open to all women and non-binary people. BIPOC and queer writers are strongly encouraged to submit.
